Interval Training: The Quickest Way To Lose Belly Fat
Interval Training
Interval training is one of the quickest ways to lose belly fat.
It consists of performing bursts of intensive exercise over a short duration followed by exercise at a slower rate. The intense bursts of exercise will continue for at least a couple more times over your exercise period, but the duration of them will decrease for each subsequent time. This method of training was developed by coaches to help improve the performance of sportsmen with great success.
A by product of this was the realisation that sportsmen lost weight after a few of these training sessions.
Lose Fat Quickly
If you apply these techniques to your fitness programme you will find that you lose fat quickly.
The good thing about this, is that although it is quite hard work at first, it is a lot more effective than other forms of exercise that people use to lose weight. For example, large numbers of stomach crunches are often cited as effective at helping you to lose belly fat. They can be, but you need to perform an exhausting number for it to help you lose weight.
So what I would recommend is that if you are already fairly fit and you have a favourite exercise, for example swimming, warm up and once you are ready, swim at a sprint pace for thirty seconds if you can.
Follow this by a couple of slow lengths to recover. Then once you have recovered swim at a sprint pace again for twenty seconds, followed by another slower couple of lengths.
If you can manage it do the same a third time. You may find it takes a few sessions before you can achieve three or more of these intense bursts of fast swimming, but if you aim to achieve this over a few weeks, you will not only start to feel a lot fitter, but you will also find that you are losing weight as well.
You must of course continue with your diet and if you do I am sure you will find it one of the quickest ways to lose weight.
You can easily lose three to ten pounds over a period of one month using this method. I think that this form of exercise can benefit people that exercise on their own at things such as swimming, running and cycling.
If you are like me, you will find that it is easy to get into a routine of cycling for say three miles at an even pace, or swimming for forty lengths at a steady speed. What the interval training does is help to invigorate your exercise and help you lose weight at the same time.
