1 Suit – The first thing you’ll need to find is a suit that is fitted snugly. If it’s a matching suit it should be black with a very thin tie. You can also use a dark pair of fitted slacks or pants with a lighter oversized jacket. You’ll also need to use a thin tie for this one.

2 Hair – Elvis’ hair is a big part of what made him memorable as an icon. It is also one of the most recognizable elements of an Elvis costume. You can style your own hair with a classic pompadour using hair gel or other slicking product, or you can also find a good professional Elvis wig.

3 Shoes – Elvis’ shoes may not have been a prominent part of his persona, but they are very important. If you are dressing up as Elvis, you should at least have the capability of doing some of his dance moves, which would not be possible without a well-polished pair of good looking slippery-soled leather shoes.

4 Voice – The voice that you must cultivate for a good Elvis impersonation can easily be achieved by lowering your vocal resonance and adding a southern twang. Feel free to liberally practice the classic phrase, “Thank you, thank you very much ..” There are many websites with links to videos or audio clips of Elvis performing and they often and with this expression of gratitude. The more you listen, the easier it will be to do yourself.

5 Hips – Elvis had a motion in his hips that made all the ladies go crazy. 7 Makeup / features – Elvis had a beautiful iconic face which is immortalized in countless photos. His most alluring features were his full pouting lips and those gorgeous blue eyes. He is also very easily recognized by his sideburns and their various styles. A simple trick to adding fullness to lips is to use a neutral lip liner with a slight bit of shimmer and apply it just outside your natural lip line. Blend it with a lip balm and you’re set.
