Treatment Options For Recurrent Ovarian Cysts – Part 2

Two further alternative options to cure recurrent ovarian cysts:

1. Homeopathy – has been studied in India by the Council for Research in Homeopathy; results showed that homeopathic remedies could play a positive role in the management of the disease. After comparing both pre (before) and post (after) treatment ultra sonography reports, it was documented that in 16.6% of patients the cysts had disappeared, and in a further 20.8% of patients the size of the cysts had been reduced.

Homeopathic treatments follow three basic principles:

1. Like Cures Like – if the symptoms of an illness are similar to those displayed for example: when a person has lead poisoning, then lead will be used to treat the person.

2. Extremely Dilute Form of Remedy – where the dilution of the remedy is diluted to the point where only memories of what was there remain.

3. Single Remedy – is where just one single remedy is used to cure rather than multi-remedies (this method is applied no matter how many symptoms exist).

Remedies not only help to ease the symptoms of ovarian cysts, but also help enhance the body’s immune system. The following remedies may be used to treat ovarian cysts:

1. Lycopodium – is considered to be beneficial in the management of ovarian cysts (symptoms associated with PCOS [Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome] may also be alleviated). It also helps regularize women’s menstrual cycles, treats leucorrhea (whitish discharge from the vagina), and relieves abdominal pain (especially used where the right ovary is affected).

2. Thuja – is used for polycystic ovaries (especially used where the left ovary is affected), and to treat PCOS. It is also used to treat vaginal infections, and improves the tone and texture of the skin (amongst other aliments).

Whilst using homeopathic remedies, certain dietary and life-style changes should be considered which may be discussed with the Homeopath who prescribes the remedies. Homeopathic remedies should not be taken without the recommendation of a qualified Homeopath.

2. Chinese Medicine – believes that ovarian cysts are caused by the following: a spleen (qi) deficiency, kidney (yin or yang) deficiency, and blood stasis (blood stagnation). So by using the “moxa attach cyst plaster” which can permeate into the whole of the body, and where the effects are: (a) recuperation of the liver, (b) recuperation of the spleen, © recuperation of the viscera organs, and (d) recuperation of the hormonal system due to the running of the local blood unobstructed.

It is believed that the physiological function of diseased parts will recover in the patient, and the cysts will be cured radically. This belief has been in place for many thousands of years, and has not changed during that time. The moxa attach cyst plaster has now been proven as being effective, showing excellent results and with zero side-effects (some conventional doctors may even prescribe the moxa attach cyst plaster, although it is still classed as being an alternative treatment).

Other herbs used by Chinese doctors to cure ovarian cysts may include: barley peel, cayenne pepper, cardamom, orange peel, and turmeric (the popular Indian curry spice). Chinese medicine is (as is homeopathy) used together with certain dietary and life-style changes that are important in helping the patient gain all the benefits from the medicine that has been prescribed.
