The Goal of Six Pack Abs – Is It Achievable?

Many people who pursue a weight training program have the goal of getting six packs. But often this looks like a formidable task and quite a few of them abandon this as an impractical target. Gaining six pack abs involves building well defined abdominal muscles. Muscle building is a commonly desired objective and is not difficult to achieve. All it needs is exercising. Those who abandon their goal of six pack abs do so because they fear that it involves hard work. It is not really hard work. Doing exercise regularly is not a hard work, as wrongly perceived by many. The problem is cultivating a discipline. You cannot expect results if you start an exercise program and abandon it after a few days for some reason or other. In fact, you can come out with a lot of reasons for not doing something. But there is just one reason for doing anything. It is for getting results. If you want results, you need to take action. It is as simple as that.

If you are serious about the goal of six pack abs, then I would suggest that you do the floor exercises. Crunches and Sit ups come under this category. As you know, to get six pack abs, you have to tighten your abdominal muscles. You should also exercise them through body movements. Floor exercises are very effective in getting these results. As with any new routine, you will find doing these crunches and sit ups difficult in the beginning. The body needs some time to get used with a new routine. It will offer resistance in the beginning but will soon adjust itself to the task. Some people make the mistake of starting with an ambitious program, only to give it up sooner than later. It is wise to start with a moderate target of about 20 and then gradually increase it. You can increase the number by one everyday so that you will soon be doing hundred crunches or sit ups, feeling no strain.

Six pack abs is not a fancy goal. There is a need to dissolve the abdominal fat. Scientific research has shown that while excess fat in any part of the body is not good for your health, abdominal fat is particularly harmful. Since the abdominal muscles are exercised when you bend your body forward, which you are likely to do quite often, these muscles need flexibility. So the problem is not with looks alone. Excessive abdominal fat definitely makes you look ugly but the reason you should get rid of it is that it is going to tell on your health in the long run.
