Morning sickness – Morning sickness or nausea during early pregnancy will occur in the first trimester. You can carry an airbag with you at all times and some ginger or liquids to avoid dehydration and make the feeling of nausea subside. You will also begin to be fickle minded about your food habits, so carry varieties of snacks to munch on.

Frequent urination – As the uterus enlarges, it will press upon the bladder, and this may cause you to urinate more frequently. Do not drink diuretics such as tea and coffee.

Constipation – During early pregnancy, you may often be constipated, due to the increase in the hormone progesterone. Drink lots of fluids, exercise moderately, maybe go for a walk and you might want to take vitamin supplements that can help in this situation, after consulting your doctor.

Fatigue – During early pregnancy the morning sickness and the dizzy spells may tire you out. Hormonal changes in your body may make you feel sleepy all the time. Eat a balanced and nutritious diet, sleep for 9 to 10 hours a day, and do some deep breathing exercises.

Heartburn – This very uneasy feeling is caused due to the backward movement of stomach acids into the esophagus from the stomach. Also, as the size of the stomach increases as the infant within grows, this also causes heartburn. Avoid eating acidic and spicy foods, eat in small gaps, every two to three hours, and sleep in an elevated position, propped up on pillows.

Mood swings – Moods swings during early pregnancy can be caused by physical and psychological factors. Anxiety about the future is understandable. It is important to realize and acknowledge, what you are going through, whether it is depression, or feelings of irritation or elation, so that you can handle your feelings better.

Vaginal discomfort – This is a universal phenomenon, vaginal discharge during early pregnancy increases, and this condition is called leukorrea. It is harmless and won’t harm the baby in any way. You might feel itchy and there may be a foul odour from the vagina, at this time, its best to consultant your gynecologist because it could be an infection.
