It seems that everywhere you go today we are being bombarded with a flurry of advice and tips from all kinds of gurus, experts and general do-gooders on how to lose weight. The amount of advice available and the range of conflicting opinions can be bewildering. Its bad enough if you want to choose a diet and stick to it, but what if your after some specialised weight loss tips – such as wanting to know how to lose belly fat for example?

Well, as a late Christmas present for you, I have laid out my top 4 tips for losing belly fat and getting that washboard stomach that you have always dreamed about.

Tip 1: Work Out A Balanced Diet. Proper nutrition is one of the major factors in any successful diet but with the kind of exercise regimes I’m going to explain later on you need to alter your diet radically for the best chance of success. Of course, you need to eat healthily, so the usual advice about eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and less sugar etc still applies but its the frequency of your meals that’s also of vital importance. You need to be eating regular, small amounts of food, think like 6 meals a day, in order to keep your metabolism running at its most efficient rate. This will need some careful planning as you will have to set aside regular meal times whether you are at work or at home, but it can be done.

Tip 2: Drink Plenty Of Cold Water. Research has shown that cold water actually aids your fat burning processes by up to 200% compared to drinking water at room temperature. Ensure that you drink at least 6-8 glasses a day but avoid fruit cordials or flavourings.

Tip 3: Embark on a rigorous interval workout regime. This really is the key to your success when it comes to losing belly fat. You see, an interval workout is basically a short sharp set of exercises that are designed to boost your metabolism and help you burn more fat. You should consider your individual needs when it comes to the exercises but each session should last only about 15 minutes at a time and you should only do these about 3 times a week. That’s a whole exercise regime packed into just 45 vigorous minutes a week – amazing!

Tip 4: Don’t over reach. This kind of diet can have immediate and quite remarkable effects. During the first 2 weeks your metabolism will be working flat out and your body will be rapidly riding itself of harmful toxins. This will mean that the weight loss is exponentially large, but it will settle own. It’s important that you don’t expect these kinds of weight loss to continue, there simply isn’t the same ratio of fat on your body to burn after the initial period. Don’t be tempted to increase your exercise rate or alter your diet to achieve the same results. It’s better to keep going, be patient and look to the long term gains.
